Mountain Village is definitely the place to stay if you’re on a family holiday with young children.  Here, you’ll be neighboring to ample beginner runs, cheaper and with excellent facilities for kids.

Telluride is on the other marginal of the state, in the south-west corner, whilst multiple Colorado resorts mount Interstate 70 leading out of Denver. The close airport is at Montrose, a challenging 60-mile drive away excluding the sparse flights that connect to Telluride Regional Airport. It’s a 6 hour trip from downtown Denver, if you’re really yearning for a challenge and don’t mind a road trip. One of its biggest disadvantages perhaps is the difficulty in accessing Telluride, but it is an advantage to those who prefer to stay away from crowds.
